i hope everyone had a merry christmas & i wish you and your families all the best in 2010! i love the holidays…the decorations, cold weather & the smell of wood-burning fireplaces, snugly sweaters & cute boots, food & family gatherings. and this holiday, i especially love THAT feeling of…it’s been so long, i can vaguely remember what it’s called…you know, RELAXATION. aaahhhhh *deep exhale*

i’ve been traveling, working and just going non-stop for what feels like months now…this week was the first time i’ve been able revisit that fleeting state of relaxation…and it was unbelievable! just 6 days ago, i was in vancouver shooting another awesome episode of ‘destination tennis’.

not only did the shoot go really well but i fell head over heels in love with vancouver…the water-front cityscape of high-rise buildings meeting snow-capped mountain peaks was absolutely breath-taking.

if i had created vancouver in sim city (old school video game), it couldn’t have been more perfectly-suited for me– prominent chinese & french culture, wide array of food, and the energy of a metropolitan city mixed with eco-friendly living, as well as super NICE people. it doesn’t get much better than that; however, the only minor teeny weeny downside to vancouver…the winter weather. errrrgh.

yes, it was COLD, hovering around freezing the entire time…or raining, but that didn’t stop me from having the time of my life. neither did pulling my quad!! ouch. (i may have over-exerted myself a bit, between the skiing and tennis, without properly stretching ugh). with the help of some ice, bandages, and an amazingly supportive crew, i was back on the town in no time. this episode is going to be chock full of adventure, excitement and maybe an EWWHH moment or two (i was challenged to extreme cuisine tasting in chinatown…and i never turn down a food challenge muahahah). i will fill you in on more deets about the vancouver show in a later post, as well as some must-see places for those visting my new favorite city.

but before i get too ahead of myself, i must mention that the DAY before i flew out to vancouver, i had the pleasure of red carpet hosting at spike tv’s ‘video game awards 2009′ for radaronline.com

    IMG00015-20091212-1649

i’ve played video games here and there for years…my faves would have to be: super mario, mario cart, golden eye, sim city, the sims & quake. the VGAs were so much fun and believe it or not, gamers know how to throw a party! on top of that, there were some super hot gamer chicks present, including alyssa milano and nancy o’dell. nancy looks AH-MAY-ZING. that woman just had a baby and has the most rockin’ body! her secret? ea fitness for the nintendo wii!! so you can guess what i asked santa for xmas :)

here are videos of my red carpet covering from the event: spike tv’s ‘video game awards 2009′:

enjoy! also, thanks to everyone for watching ‘destination tennis’ on tennis channel and for all of your great emails & tweets. i really appreciate the feedback, thank you so much! while i’m here, i’d like to answer a fan question…from chris, who asked whether i played tennis in college. the answer is ‘no’ *frown*. looking back, i should have and probably could have…but like many others who grew up training and competing in the sport, i burned-out after high school. up until then, my life was tennis, all week and year-round. so after hs, tennis and i parted ways…however, i’m soooo thrilled that i’m playing again. i love the sport more than ever before because i’m playing on my own accord. i’ve still got the competitive spirit and that drives me to want to constantly improve and get back to my skill level years ago. thx for the question!

okay, my dog is practically sleeping on my arm, making it a bit difficult and uncomfortable to type…so this is where i say adieu…merry christmas to all and to all a good night!!

    Forgot my hat!

yes, it’s TRUE…not only am i a certified cowgirl, thanks to passing an intense training course at ‘cowboy u’ in scottsdale, arizona…BUT i’ve also safely landed a hot air balloon in the middle of a suburban neighborhood…and that was all in one day! if you tuned in to the premiere of ‘destination tennis: scottsdale’, you’ve already witnessed my adventures first-hand and i hope you enjoyed the show.

Unscheduled Landing-- Hot Air Balloon Ride in Scottsdale, AZ

if you missed this ep, be sure to check the tennis channel schedule for repeats…it’s worth tivo-ing, i promise. if not for the beautiful sweeping desert landscapes and world-class tennis resorts, then certainly for a good laugh as i learn to ride a horse or get crushed at tennis by a 10-year old kid (he was GOOD, what can i say).

this has been our 2nd official episode to air on tennis channel and we’re getting geared up to shoot our next show in vancouver, canada! i grew up playing tennis & traveling…and i love nothing more than meeting people, great food, and sharing new experiences. so i invite you to come along for the thrills, laughs, and good times on ‘destination tennis’. thanks for watching :)

    hello everyone!

i’m back from another whirlwind ‘destination tennis’ shoot, this time in beautiful sedona & scottsdale, arizona. sedona is an extraordinary place…not only is it visually stunning, but the energy and life force there is palpable. i’ve never experienced a community that’s so in tune with and respectful of the land where it resides. i was a bit skeptical about the whole ‘vortex’ thing, but after visiting this remarkable place you really understand how beautiful and powerful the energy that connect all living things is.

our few days in sedona at the enchantment resort were amazing! from the daily spiritual/healing session to the world-class spa facility and the incredible food– i learned to make the most delish blue corn waffles yummm– it was a truly unforgettable experience. but the absolute best part was being surrounded by the gorgeous red rocks…our resort was literally nestled in the middle of 360 degrees views of red rock formations!

here’s a photo of us, dt girls, from the rooftop of the enchantment resort:

after a few days in sedona, we headed to the phoenician resort in scottsdale. i loved this place! unbelievable decor, great food, golf, tennis, i could LIVE here, no joke! i was impressed by how many interesting and fun things there are to do in this city. i was literally flying in a hot air balloon by day and sipping champagne at the sleek and swanky red bar at the mondrian by night. not to mention, attending (and graduating) from cowboy college!! i won’t say anything else about my adventures, but you MUST tune in on nov. 30th for ‘destination tennis’ on tennis channel…it’s going to be AWESOME :)

speaking of shows…thanks to everyone for watching my 1st ‘destination tennis’ show in san diego! i’m thrilled to hear your thoughts and feedback. we packed in sooo many things in a such a short period of time but there were just a ton of things to do and see in san diego…it was great! i do have to give a shout out to our 2 fabulous tennis resorts– the la jolla beach and tennis club, as well as rancho valencia. as you probably noticed on the show these resorts are out of the world! la jolla b&tc is literally on the SAND. i loved having breakfast in my room each morning with panoramic views of the ocean– it was the perfect way to start my day. and rancho valencia was a divine sanctuary, where you feel instantly relaxed and secretly tucked away from the world.

i hope you’ve enjoyed the 1st show and i can assure you it’s only going to get better and better!! thanks so much for watching :)
